Acceptable use policy

Last updated 2026-08-16

This policy forms part of our terms of service. It exists because a data collection tool can be used well or badly, and we would like to be clear about which is which before you start.

1. What the Service is for

Collecting publicly available business information — company names, addresses, opening hours, published reviews, business contact details — for legitimate business purposes such as market research, lead generation, competitive analysis and directory building.

2. You must not

  • Use the Service to gather information about private individuals rather than businesses, or to build profiles of people.
  • Send unsolicited bulk email, SMS or messages in breach of electronic marketing law in the recipient’s country. Having someone’s address does not mean you may write to them.
  • Use collected data for harassment, stalking, doxxing, or to threaten or intimidate anyone.
  • Collect data you have no lawful basis to hold, or keep it after that basis has gone.
  • Use the Service to breach the terms of any third-party site, or to access anything behind a login, paywall or other access control.
  • Resell or redistribute raw exports as a standalone dataset, or operate a competing data service on top of the Service.
  • Attempt to circumvent credit limits, rate limits, or access controls, or share one account across separate organisations.
  • Probe, scan or attack the Service, or use it to distribute malware.
  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, or to discriminate against people in ways the law prohibits.

3. Volume and fair use

Credit limits are the main control on volume, and staying within your plan is normally enough. We may contact you if a usage pattern threatens the stability of the Service for other customers, and we will try to find a workable arrangement before taking any other step.

4. Data protection is shared work

We build the tool; you decide what to collect and why. Where the data you collect includes personal data you act as its controller, with the responsibilities that carries. Our privacy policy explains the split in full.

5. Reporting misuse

If you believe someone is misusing the Service, or you are the subject of data collected through it, contact support@keklik.io and we will look into it.

6. Enforcement

Breaching this policy can lead to a warning, suspension, or termination without refund, depending on how serious it is. Where the breach is minor and fixable we will normally ask you to fix it first. We report to the authorities where the law requires it.
